When most people think of timber flooring, the first thing they consider is hardwood timber flooring. Although this is one of the most aesthetically appealing options, it can also be quite expensive. However, compromising on cost does not mean that you cannot get timber flooring that will be attractive. One of the options you could consider is bamboo flooring. Not only does this type of flooring offer a unique look to your home, it is also reasonably priced as well as ecofriendly. Here are some of the reasons why bamboo flooring would be ideal for any residence.

Bamboo flooring is convenient to install

When it comes to investing in a new floor for your home, one of the biggest concerns would be how labour intensive the project will be. Some types of flooring would require you to remove the previous flooring before it can be laid down. This not only means that the process will take longer, but you will also incur additional labour costs. Bamboo flooring is ideal due to the convenience it offers when it comes to installation. This type of timber flooring does not require excessive prepping and can be directly installed onto an array of substrates such as plywood, hardwood, concrete and more.

Bamboo flooring is moisture resistant

When it comes to using timber flooring in your home, you would have to take measures to ensure that the flooring is not exposed to excess moisture. This is because over time, the water causes damage to the wood in the form of warping and even rotting. This is especially true of the wood is not sealed on a regular basis. Bamboo flooring on the other hand is moisture resistant. This means you do not have to employ excessive maintenance measures to ensure it is protected from water damage. Additionally, it also means that it can be used as flooring in areas that are exposed to moisture on a regular basis such as decking flooring, bathroom flooring or kitchen flooring.

Bamboo flooring is hygienic

There are various reasons why bamboo flooring would be a hygienic option for your home. Firstly, since the flooring is not susceptible to water damage, you can rest assured that you will not have to worry about mould infestations. Secondly, bamboo has inherent antibacterial qualities, which make this flooring resistant to breeding germs in your home. Lastly, bamboo flooring is hypoallergenic, making it a good option for people who are afflicted with allergies.
